While everyone knows this, what about how they work and the difference between gasoline and diesel engines? Well, if you want to find out about these two things, continue reading. We will give you a simplified explanation of how they both work and how they differ. Gasoline Engines Gasoline engines produce a lot of power but less torque, making them ideal for light vehicles or performance ones. To better understand how they work, we will split the main processes that occur into four parts below: Air intake - The first thing every engine does, no matter what fuel it uses, is intake air. It travels from the outside, through a filter, and in the cylinders. Fueling - Fuel is injected by the injectors at exact intervals and amounts hundreds of times a minute.
